Business Administration

Seward County Community College and Kansas State University have developed a 2+2 agreement for nontraditional, place-bound learners. This agreement will allow SCCC students to earn an Associate of Science degree in General Business, and then transfer those credits to K-State toward the completion of a Bachelor of Science degree in General Business. Additionally, SCCC has enhanced its agreement for those students who wish to transfer to the K-State campus to complete a degree in Business Administration.

Betty Stevens, Associate Vice Provost for Information Technology Partnerships and Associate Dean of Kansas State's Division of Continuing Education, said that the agreement will create a visual guide for community college students who plan to transfer to a degree completion program at K-State. Representatives on hand for the signing included: Dr. Duane Dunn, (former) SCCC president; Marcia Hatcher, (former) Chair of the SCCC Business Division; Provost Duane Nellis of K-State; Beth Unger, Vice Provost and Dean of the Division of Continuing Education at K-State; Ike Ehie, Associate Dean for the College of Business Administration at K-State; and Donna Shank, Chair of the Kansas Board of Regents.

"This articulation agreement is a great opportunity for our students," said Hatcher,"and will benefit those who want to stay in southwest Kansas and complete a bachelor's degree through distance education as well as those who would like to transfer to the K-State campus." Due to this agreement, students can stay in southwest Kansas and complete their Bachelor's degree through a variety of distance learning methods such as online courses, and video and ITV lectures.
